SRM's NFL Picks, Super Sunday!

Gene Haddock

This could be the one, folks. This could actually be the year that the Super Bowl lives up to the hype. Manning versus Brees. The shootout at Joe Robbie. Yeah, it will always be Joe Robbie Stadium no matter how many times they sell the naming rights.

Super Sunday, that most American of holidays. In fact, it is as if we took all the best holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, St Patrick's Day, and the Fourth of July, and combined them into one ginormous exercise in American excess. You are very welcome, remaining citizens of the world.

We are going down to the wire with our picks also. Regular season champ, Chris Humpherys, was 4-0 in the conference title games. Robert Elkhorn hung with him, also going 4 for 4. Gene Haddock was 3-1. While Mike Roarty was 2-2.

Playoff standings....

Chris Humpherys......8-4

Gene Haddock.........8-4

Robert Elkhorn........6-6

Mike Roarty............6-6

This weeks selections....

1.....Saints + 6 vs Colts

2.....Over/Under 56.5

3.....Most passing yards, Manning or Brees

4.....Most rushing yards (team) Saints or Colts

Gene's picks

Saints are a feel-good story, but the ride is over. Peyton Manning is THAT damn good! I have never seen one player mean so much to his team. The Saints were lucky to beat the fumbling Vikings, as they needed overtime, at home, to beat a less than stellar Favre. Look for Manning to put up five or six TDs through the air, as the Colts roll 42-21.

Over

Brees playing catch up the last three quarters has more passing yards, but no ring.

Colts will have more ground yardage.

Thanks to the other three SRM regulars for the season long ass whipping in our weekly NFL picks, and thanks to all of our readers for hanging in there with us. The Daytona 500 is next week and I will be back in my comfort zone.

I'll go with Indy and the under...Peyton over Brees and WHO DAT to get the ground game rolling.

Let's just hope it's a good, exciting game and lives up to the hype...if not the outrageous cost of the commercials (right B?)...Personally, I can't wait to pig out on snacks and beer while wearing out the La-Z-Boy.
Ahhh, Americana...soak it in while it lasts.

I hears ya bruh...where is the relevancy? Gimme some on on the cutting edge or if you wanted the Who, how bout around 71 or 72? They are just not the same band without Moonie, never mind Boris the Spider, Entwistle.

Not even close...

I wish Ugg would go away..

B....what's up, bruh?

I saw the Who's Super Bowl set list last week. Five classic (worn out) songs, straight out of a Chevy truck commercial. What a joke. No hip hop. No artist under 50. They tried it with Timberlake, and look how that turned out. Turned out that it was the last time the halftime show was must-see.

Ah yes, I do agree Geno, but what is the over/under for the Who NOT looking like old men and being a parady of their former selves?

Inquiring minds just havta know!
