What happened to all the great NFL playoff games of yesteryear? We have suffered through eight playoff games this year, and have seen, at most, three quarters of actual competitiveness on the field. The second half of the Cards/Packers tilt and the final quarter of last week's Charger meltdown. Yes, Hank, we are ready for some football!
Mike Roarty came roaring back last week, going 3-1. Chris Humpherys and myself both settled at 2-2. But, shouldn't I get some love for calling the Jets win, and how it would happen? Robert Elkhorn was 1-3 for the second week in a row. Our guest prognosticator, uclan, was O-4! The uclan was last seen at a pawn shop purchasing a pistol and one bullet.
Playoff standings, Gene Haddock still leads the tourney at 5-3. Roarty and Humpherys are right there at 4-4. Elkhorn is 2-6.
This week we will pick the two games against the spread as always. We will also pick the over/under for both games.
Jets + 7.5 at Colts (o/u 39)
Vikings + 3.5 at Saints (o/u 53)
Gene's picks
The Jets dream ride gets shot down by an Indy squad that has something to prove. Jets' coach Ryan, has brilliant schemes on D, but Peyton is the smartest cat on the field, and Indy's defense handled the Ravens... a team very similar to the Jets.
Colts win 28-10, and I'm taking the Under.
That damn Favre just won't go away. He's the Uncle Eddie of the NFL. The Cowboys bowed down, and proved that "they are who we thought they were." There can only be one sure way to rid the world of (drama) Queen Favre.... I will take the Vikes. The Kiss of Death! Buh-Bye, Bret.
Saints win 30-28, and that's an Over
