Dave Tartoni

Tartoni has lived in Michigan all his life; born and raised in Grand Blanc.  A graduate of Michigan State University, Tartoni has been watching baseball since his father made him sit down and watch Mark “The Bird” Fidrych beat the Yankees on June 28, 1976.  He has been hooked ever since (Thank’s Dad).  He has been playing Fantasy Baseball since 1991 and admits it is an addiction that he is working on.  He is not an expert… he hasn’t played at a high level… and he does not cover the game like a beat writer.  Tartoni is a fan... and plans on bringing that voice to SRM.

Gene Haddock

Gene Haddock has been involved in motorsports for over twenty years. Now he brings his racing background, knowledge, and contacts to Sports Review Magazine.

Look for Gene’s NASCAR recaps every week in ‘View From The Flagstand’. His weekly previews, with a dash of rumor and humor, can be found here also in ‘Right Sides Only’. Gene will also hit on the hot topics of the day in all forms of motorsports.

Gene travels the Southeast between the race shops of Charlotte and the superspeedways of Florida. He tries to find time for Hope and Jenna, and to bicycle a little. He also is a huge football fan. Miami Dolphins and Hurricanes, Jacksonville Jaguars, and South Carolina Gamecocks are all breaking his heart annually.

Trish Burnside
Trish Burnside was born and raised in the Bay Area, California. As a teenager she excelled in both writing and sports, earning recognition for her writing ability at an early age and competing fervently as a child and teen in various equestrian events and Tae Kwon Do tournaments. As an adult Trish has resided mostly in Northern California but lived and worked for 3 years in Hawaii where she began to train as an amateur kick-boxer at a small but highly competitive camp in Kahului, Maui. Recently, Trish graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the highly regarded Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California.
Her passion for writing has persisted as she currently seeks to publish several non-fiction pieces about her life experiences as well as pursue a career in sports journalism. Trish’s passion for martial arts has also kept up as she continues to further her training as a kick-boxer and MMA fighter under the guidance and instruction of world-renown, champion martial artist Cung Le in Milpitas, Ca. Trish hopes to turn professional by 2010.

Matt Mackinder
Matt Mackinder has a wealth of sports journalism experience as he has written, and continues to write, for a plethora of publications.

Mackinder, 31, currently writes for Michigan Hockey, USCHO.com, Michigan CollegeHockey.com, Arizona Rubber Magazine, California Rubber Magazine, SLAM! Wrestling, and now, Sports Review Magazine.

Previously, Mackinder has written for USA Junior Hockey Magazine, The TV Timeout, The Hockey Times and has had his work published on occasion in The Hockey News. He also maintains a junior hockey blog on Michigan-based teams and players. In addition, Matt was the sports editor of The South End, the student newspaper at Wayne State University in Detroit, back in 1999-2000.

Public relations is another field where Matt has experience as he has worked for the old International Hockey League, the Continental Elite Hockey League, the Metro Jets of the Central States Hockey League and the Detroit Tigers during the team’s first year at Comerica Park.

Mackinder also wrote for Mirror Newspapers, ironically enough, under SRM colleague Steve Stein, from 1998-2004.

A lifelong Michigander, Mackinder has been married to his beautiful wife, Stephanie, since Oct. 16, 2004, and the couple has two sons, Ethan (4 on Aug. 29) and Wyatt (2 on Sept. 7), along with Eddie, their six-year-old pooch.
Chris Humpherys

When I'm not working on my own personal website, sportschump.net, I spend most of my time avoiding drama in its many forms, unless of course it's on the basketball court, baseball diamond or football field.

My turn-ons include Gator national championships, sushi, the NBA Playoffs, A Tribe Called Quest, women, Jack Daniels, women who drink Jack Daniels, women who drink Jack Daniels while eating sushi and women who dream of more Gator national championships while eating sushi and drinking Jack Daniels during basketball season. My turn-offs include waking up early, the inevitable media coverage Bobby Bowden will get when he finally retires, prejudice, chicken liver and work of any sort.
